Fantastic photos of Caceres and the amphitheater in Merida thanks for posting. The centre of Merida was busy, we intended to only stop for coffee even riding through was interesting. We will have to go there again, we plan to go back to Salamanca, way too many people Easter Sunday, Caceres and Merida. Seville is baking at the moment. It was 35 degrees when we arrived yesterday evening. The place is full of yanks, gorgeous city all the same. Ronda for lunch and the “high” road down to the coast. IMG_6062.jpg

I did a bit of the Algeciras to Ronda road today, but near Gaucin, it was not very busy at all. Ronda down to the coast can be busy, as all the commercial traffic uses it. I always leave the coast road at Sabinillas, and then up to Gaucin turn right at the main road, it’s a fabulous bikers road right up to Ronda. Where ever you go, enjoy yourself’s...:thumb2

It will be cooler on the coast now, the winds are from the East, so it will be damper and cooler.
Yesterday the wind was from the West, that’s always dry and hot.

We followed the A375 out of Seville and then more of less the A374 into Ronda having done a detour up to Zahara. After lunch in Ronda ( where we spotted a bunch of Belgian bikers all on BMW R1250GSA’s and two German bikers on Suzuki V- Stroms!!) we took the A366 up to El Burgo and down into Coin, which offers a more direct run down into Los Boliches without once having to travel on the dreaded A7. Much much cooler here with almost a hint of sea mist. 2 night hotel with underground parking in one of the fine factory hotels near the beach for the princely sun of €120.69. De Queen was a bit anxious on the A366 and the R1150gs was a bit of a handful loaded up as she was but got us here safe and sound all the same. The cooler weather is almost a relief after the last few days and will acclimatise us nicely for the continuing winter on the West Coast of Ireland later this week.IMG_6083.jpg

And that bridge

I’m pleased that you enjoyed the rides around that area, El Burgo area has some great roads and scenery. You did well to miss the A7, that road is so boring, it’s more exciting on the bus.

We could do with some of your West of Ireland weather, as everywhere is bone dry. Some nice photos of the Roman bridge in Ronda and of the lake in Zahara, it really is turquoise, but looks to be very low. Keep an eye on the wind direction, it changed again down here to the poniente wind ( Dry and hot ) late yesterday, the cooler damp wind from the East is known as the Lavante, they make a big difference.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays..:beerjug:

Thanks for that. I will be back in a few weeks to continue the journey, without all the shoes!
