Timmelsjoch this year the Otztal Radmarathon takes place on 8/7/2023 and 9/7/2023

Heads up warning for anyone travelling to do the Timmelsjoch this year the Otztal Radmarathon takes place on 8/7/2023 and 9/7/2023 the route runs form Solden to Oetz across to Innsbuck and then over the Brenner Pas to Vipiteno , over the Jaufenpass and then the Timmelsjoch back down to Solden . We were due to stay in Otz on the 8th but our normal hotel is booked up

By the looks of previous years it will be a nightmare with possible road closures and having been caught out in the past by a couple of large cycle events in the Alps it is probably best to avoid that weekend

We are due to ride through on the 11th July, will all the fuss have died down by then?
Can't face redoing all the routes...

Should be fine by the 11th ,it is only a two day event and so everywhere was booked up for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, everything will no doubt be fully open and the restrictions lifted by the Sunday evening.
