View Full Version : Front Shocks recall
Was just told by my local BMW shop that BMW (Norway) yesterday issued a campaign/claim/recall (what ever they want to call it) on the front shocks of my '08 GS ADV (w/ESA) -ref #006510000
They will take care of it at the next service.

It's on certain 2008 GS and GSAs but only with ESA and is for replacement of the front shock unit.
Mines going in on Tuesday for the work and another software upgrade it seems.
Dealers were informed last week so to see if your involved get in touch and give them your VIN (if they don't already have it that is) :thumb

My front shock was leaking. When the dealership pulled the shock they discovered that the forks were binding as well. Now the bike is in the shop waiting for a new shock and new forks.
This is a new 08' with ESA (and only 1000 miles). So far they have replaced the rear wheel (out of round), balanced the front wheel, done several firmware upgrades and now they are going to replace the front shock and the forks.
The dealership has been great but I am miffed with BMW. They need to get their act together. Come on, BMW, get the bugs out before you start shipping new bikes.
