Has anybody managed to polish out small stone chips from a 1200 screen? Is there any particular product or kit, or are there any companies that can do this to bring it back good as new?
Did a search but showed nowt.

Dont! if you read your manual the only thing you are supposed to put on those screens are angle tears (I exaggerate) on a shammie, if you apply anything else you invalidate your warranty - if its already expired, why not pop along to autograss and see if they have anything they can advise :D

XL2000 or Xerapol are both good for minor scratches / chips. Used them on car and aeroplane perspex screens also on my 1150 to remove slight scratches.
Lots of elbow grease involved but it did a good job.
Xerapol (pron zerapol) is more expensive, think the xl2000 was £5.99 for a smallish bottle.

A small pot of brasso and a mahoosive vat of elbow grease works for me.

If that doesn't work, then it's 'character', a bit like a muddy bike - shows it doesn't just come out on sunny Sundays :hide

If working with perspex, to produce a polished edge,
First file to shape.
Then start with sandpaper on a block polishing further to shape, & eventually
going to the finest wet & dry you can get.
At this point you have a smooth to touch, rounded edge which is dull & opaque.
Start on it with T cut or Brasso, & in a couple of minutes you will have a glittering, transparent edge.

Same for a "Plastic" windscreen. Mild scratches may be taken out directly with T Cut. Heavy "Chips" are impossible, without going through the process mentioned above.
Similarly to clean a windscreen or visor which has "Dulled" with age. Just polish with Brasso & it will come up perfect again.
I did one on a K1200LT a few months ago. Took several hours, but it was worth it.
Hard work though.

Hope this helps.
