I've achieved just over 9,000 miles on the original pads which I'm quite happy with

Anyone out there got any recommendations regarding replacement brands and type - I did a search, but couldn't find any specifics

I'm more interested in efectiveness that mileage

Thanks in advance :thumb

Are you talking about the front or rear pads?

I replaced my rears with EBCs and they were fine, I'm not sure it's worth putting anything expensive in the rear brake.

If you mean front pads, I would say that you must use the brakes a lot :D My original front pads are still going strong after 25,000 miles, but I have bought a set of EBCs (again the standard type nothing fancy) to replace them with.

So that answer was not really much help to you :)

Sorry should have been clearer - My request was about Rear pads

I don't think expensive pads in the rear brake are worth it, you'll never get that much stopping power from the rear brake. So I'd go with the cheaper (non sintered or whatever) EBC pads, they last longer than the BMW ones in my experience.

Thanks - EBC ordered and I'll be using your extremely good Haynes alternative fitting guide :thumb
