I'm sure this was discussed before, but I can't remember.

What alternative shocks/suspension is there for the 1200 GS? I hit my bash plate/belly pan often, and subsequently had to replace the rubbers on numerous occasions.

Will Ohlins/Wilbur shocks raise the bike to assist in getting more ground clearance or will it only make your ride better.

Any ideas?

The bike definitely sits higher with Ohlins - you can also specifiy stiffer springs.

I can highly recomend speaking to Richard at MAXTON'S where they will tailor make a shock to your exact specifications. And unlike Ohlins they only need servicing evey 15,000 miles.
