One of my "Hot Airheads"

1976 90/6 with many performance mods: gas flowed, twin plugged, twin disc conversion, handlebar hydraulic reservoir conversion, clutch actuation mod that makes it almost weightless to operate even though it is still a heavy flywheel, plus a load of other stuff.
It goes as well as most modern bikes and drives round corners better than some sportsbikes. Much better than a standard 90S! :thumb2

BMW R650 LS 1982 model

Great thread this. Love the old Boxers.

Here is my contribution:

Best bike I've ever owned.

Bought it with 16,000 kms in 1994.
As of yesterday, almost 400,000 kms.

My mates call it the Road Warrior or the Mad Max bike, or the Bismarck. :D
Been down more dirt roads than most of my trail bikes.
Still got the same rings and pistons as the day I bought it.
Hardy ever had to do more than change the oil/plugs/set tappets.
Only recently needed new rear seals.

:drool

I'm riding the 90/6 most days. It's so smooth and quick but looks a little ragged with the dented tank. I keep changng my mind on what I'm going to do with it.
