Project bike advice

It's surprising what you can get done in a couple of evenings in the garage, the starting point for my project.

Wheels

It's surprising how relaxing building a pair of wheels is.

Top yoke

As I'm using the original forks,I thought I'd have to do something about the ugly steel top yoke,so I've knocked up a Titanium top yoke,I made two,one for my scrambler which will have 12.5 mm holes drilled in it to mount the bar risers, and the other one will be left undrilled for a future project with clip ons .

NIce. I reckon if you knocked up a few of those you would have little trouble selling them on here.........OEM look but presumably much better (?).

Water jet cut with machined holes, little bit thicker than the steel version around 5 mm with a nice satin finish.

A little bit more thought required before you can fit them to a bike, but nut a bad concept - the stock top plate just isnt up to off road work and in my experience twists and flexes so much you cant keep the top nut tight.

The bike is going to be more of a show pony than an off road bike,my previous project caters for that,

Tyres

I'm looking for a pair of tyres for my project,I'm using the standard wire wheels which use 100/90/19 on the front and 120/80/18 on the back,I'm looking for the off road look, which is where I'm struggling. There are plenty on the market, but I can't find a pair of the same make , and with the correct speed rating.

Tyres

Found my tyres,Dunlop Trailmax, exact look I was after ,alloy guards, single seat, small headlight ,2-1 high level exhaust .Engine is stripped ready for vapour blasting.

Did this ever get finished?
Making good progress, engine and gearbox was stripped for vapour blasting, both now rebuilt, I have caliper adaptors being water jet cut out of 5 mm Titanium plate, ready to fit a set of R1200 4 pots, I have man flu at the moment so layer up.

Should read Layed up.

First ride after mot, really pleased with it, front brake could be a little stronger ,I’m looking to see if there’s a larger dia disc that’ll fit on the DR350 hub. The Tyres are a little noisy, but I didn’t build it to travel long distances, just a little green laning.
