What the thing that looks like an air filter just in front of the pannier? It looks like a hand-wound siren - I think some Harley police bikes had those friction-driven from the tyre... is it something similar?

The Griso is far and away my fave 'modern' Guzzi and this one I came across earlier is just lovely :)
