Looking at ya route the Lancaster Services aint too bad on the M6 whilst on the A1/M the Wetherby Services offer plenty of retail therapy as well as lovely coffee. Glad to see you didn't venture too far into the smelly old Peak District, far better to miss out running up/down the middle of the Pennines; on a Friday too and much better to stick to the Motroway system. You'll enjoy the A66 too- cracking straight road over the Pennines to Penrith with plenty of wind shelter from the constant stgream of lorries, again much better than Middleton on Teesdale to Alston/ Hartside with the constant meandering and traffic free roads. ( No help up there if you break down eh !) The Ullswater road will be chokka and the run up Kirkstone is a delight trying to avoid the fekkin constant stream of cyclists that wander from one side of the road to the other zig-zag like cos they're too fekked to ride proper and can't be arsed to get off and walk in a straight line. Further petrolhead stimulation is had by the addition of the 4 wheeled motorist as they stack up behind the cyclists making overtaking such an exciting and almost impossible exercise in motor vehicle control.

Enjoy. :thumb
