Thanks to a friend from Hollad, he try the stage 9 chip and send the dynos to me.

Very few diferent just for play to a friends bike. (finetuning). not imprortant

How are you feeling your bike?

A noticeable difference of power/torque in the lower rev range. Good roll on power from 50mph (80kph) and above.
I've been out on the bike five times since fitting the chip and it seems to improve each time. I filled the bike to the top
two days ago and did 110 miles. The petrol gauge is showing just above half full, so it's looking good for a better return on
fuel economy. I usually get about 200 miles per tank, but this looks like it will be a little more. Good considering the extra
performance.
Very pleased.:thumb2

Improvement and economy 2 X.

About the hardware of the new chip :
It is a new faster AMD chip.
The hardware specifications of the chip are also an upgrade to the stock old BMW chip.
This new chip has 120 nanosecond communication speed with the ECU compared to the 200ns of the stock which allows quicker mixture and ignition corrections for optimal combustion.
It also has a wider operating temperature spectrum which ranges from -80 to 180 degrees celcius.

thnaks for looking..

Got my Stage 10 chip fitted this morning to my single spark 1150GS. Thanks John.

Instantly noticeable smoothness and power at low revs. Makes the bike much snappier through the range.

Will report back when I've ridden the bike a bit more. So far, very happy. :thumby:

Apologies for the ignorance but I can't honestly say I know the difference in the various 'stages'. I had a Stage 5 in my old 1150GSA. Not sure what the 1100GS would warrant?

I ordered a chip for my 1150RT twinspark... A couple of other mods in K&N and R1200 injectors via Tills.de... Standard exhaust for noise and operation... I used to sell 1100/1150 bikes etc while at a dealer and rode quite few and also have had 1100 oilheads of my own... I know all the variables discussed on the Motronics of these bikes and open and closed loop workings... Also some of the arguments re "adaption"...

I am now a few hundred miles down the road from the change and can say that while the 1st two mods helped in freeing the engine a little the chip had made that bit extra difference... Much better response and better torque off the throttle... I am not that much of a rev bitch these days but it does fly once over 4-4.5... Very good response from 3k and useable below that...

Stage 9 chip... No fuss to deal with... Order via email and it arrives pretty quickly... I have changed chips a few times and this is my second John Gemi chip... My 1st being an 1100 open loop... I like the oilheads for their simple no frills biking and the fact that DIY maintenance is easy to work... I could go and buy a later BM without bother but prefer this era... I have had later bikes BMW and other hues... This chip has just flipped this RT from being a bit yawny and elastic in throttle response to being lively again... :thumb

Having recently sold my 1100gs i've been sorting through and selling off bits n bobs. Anyway I have an unused stage 8 chip for an 1100gs I bought two chips one to compliment some rocket sprockets and this one which has never been fitted, I've no idea what they cost at the moment but I intend selling it for £30 including postage.

I've also got a couple of 850r chips for the older and newer models.

I've got a standard [apart from a Remus can] '02 1150GS 43k, runs sweet as a nut & really fancy a stage 9-10 Gemi chip purely because 'I want the best for my bike' which is probably everyone's sentiment for their prized possession.
Plusses -v -minuses?

You've a sweet running bike which is a good thing... The chip is approx £80 and takes a fairly short time to fit on a GS if you have some mechanical nous... My twin spark RT. Now has better throttle response and more driveability... It'll never be a rocketship and extra power is not my concern only extra driveability... I've had a hexhead and as standard they were fairly breathless hence the queue as to get Hilltop remaps etc... To go LC you are looking at least 3 times the cost to purchase and have a whole load more complications to think about re Canbus, GS911s, my want to ride all year in a fairly shitty climate and leave the bike outside all day in potentially pissing blowy weather where I live...
R1150s shrug that off no worries... I have always owned my bikes and ridden year round so no shrinking violets or bikes with flouncing problems or penchant for dealer visits need apply...😉

Thanks Wrigsby. Silly thing is, she's fine as she is. I'm all for preventive maintenance and 'upgrades' that make the bike better. I'm in my 60's & drive like Miss Daisy and embarrassed to say, a dry weather biker only these days. I just thought for £80 it's a cheap, easy to do 'upgrade' that may benefit me &/or the bike. Looking back over past threads & comments, there's far more positives than minuses that I can see.
