hello
new on today and hoping someone can assist me with a weird problem I have with my navigator v and interphone. the nav v all functions show they are working but when I try the media player through my f5mc there is no sound, and it is showing paired in the nav v settings both blue
yet when I pair it thru my g4 headset there is sound.
you can hear the beeps when pressing the buttons and the directions on the f5mc, and there is music on a external Bluetooth speaker.
so I tried a zumo 660 and that played music thru my f5mc.
you can see the music playing but no sound
and finally why put an alarm clock on the nav v when there is no speaker, you must have to wear your helmet to bed.
hope you can understand my problem and thanks for the help

I can't remember the specific reason for music not playing from the Nav 5 but it's a known issue that Interphone are working on. They've known for at least a couple of months but haven't yet fixed it with an update. More people contacting them directly can only help remind them it's not yet solved...

thanks for that i will do my email and get it sent thanks again

DId you get this sorted?

I have just bought a brand new R1200GSA with the Nav V and upgraded from the F4XT to the F5MC so I can utilise the 'Anycom' feature. So does this now mean I can't listen to the music on my Nav V which is a much safer way to do so?

I'm just preparing for a road trip from UK to Swiss Alps and hoping to get this sorted pronto. HELP!

I'll be betting that your device Bluetooth isn't A2dp or something that sounds like that, in which case it will never work with NavV

No it definitely is A2DP. On the F4xt you just play the music and the intercom just jumps to streaming music mode. With the F5mc you have to navigate to the streaming music menu (which is fine). The solid blue light comes on the F5 which confirms it's receiving a music feed but just doesn't make a sound. I also have reason to believe the navigation voice instruction is not coming through either, but the audible beeps to alert me of speed traps etc does work.

I'm really disappointed with interphone on this. I'm hoping there's an update but I've just found out all their updates are not supported by Mac OS.

Oh great! Guess what system I've got and guess what sat-nav is coming with my new GSA!!? :blast:blast:blast

Due to take delivery of the bike next Saturday, so will test it out as soon as I can and let you know how I get on.

Any updates as to this problem? Am typing this with my helmet on trying to do what wcka01 is attempting to do. Nav5 and Interphone F5mc not talking. I can move up and down my track list using F5's buttons, but no sound!! Bloody frustrating. E-mailed Garmin who advised to do a factory reset on nav5, but that didn't work (all software updated).
Guess I'll have to contact Interphone then?

Update from Interphone:
I had a reply e-mail from Interphone Spa today. Not good news. They are aware of the music streaming problem between the Nav5 and F5MC. Mirco said that a software upgrade from both Garmin and Interphone will be needed, probably, but no idea when.
So as said before, the more people that e-mail and ask the better I suppose!!
Not a great answer but at least more information than Garmin offered; which was, turn it off then on again!

That is a great shame, but probably typical of the industry. It may have been said before, but my Nav V, iPhone5 and Sena SMH10R all link and work well

Hope they sort this out soon for everyone- I presume the recent firmware update for the Nav V to v3.0 made no difference?

Correct re v3.0. Made no difference.
Both my nav5 and F5MC are up to date. Interphone are updating their website next month and there may be a chance to register with them so you get an e-mail to say the update fix is ready!! One can only hope.

Have just spoken to Michael at Garmin Europe who has raised a 'case' re the music issue. He says they have no record of this problem but will get back to me soon with an answer. So time will tell on this one!
I did tell him a few people on this site were having exactly the same problem as me so lets hope Garmin and Interphone talk to each other and sort this out. The units aren't exactly cheap.

I emailed Interphone about the Nav V and f5mc issue and to their credit they got back to me shortly afterwards with the statement below. It suggests a work round for music but I am not sure if this will work. It also suggests there'll be no early resolution to the problem either...

Dear Peter,
Yes, this is a known issue that we are currently try to fix, even though I have no possibility to tell you when it will be resolved.

A customer told us that he "solved" (in some way) the problem manually going to the MUSIC menu on the F5MC. He reported that doing that, then the music from the Navigator V was correctly sent to the speakers. Of course this is not the standard functioning, because the sent music should automatically be streamed, without the need to manually operate on the F5MC unit, but if this works it could be considered as a temporary way to listen to the music contained in the Navi.

I had a Navigator V here until a few days ago so I cannot do the test by myself, but I'd counsel to try it.

I would be glad in having your eventual feedback.

Hi
I just discovered exactly the same problem. Just bought me a R1200GS with the Navigator V and paired it to my iPhone 5S and to my Interphone F5MC. Everything works fine except music streaming from Nav to Interphone. The "solution" described by Mr Mirco Grassilli do NOT work, Im able to start playing track and to skip to next but i can't hear any sound ! Both units support A2DP music streaming..NOT !!

Update:

I sent this to interphone support:

"My BMW Navigator V and my F5MC works well together except music streaming. It is possible to change track (skip to next) , the media player is showing progress, bot no sound heard"

....and got this answer: "Yes, this is a known issue that we are currently trying to fix, even though I have no precise date concerning when it will be resolved. Mirco Grassilli

This will be of no help whatsoever but I suppose will help spread the pain and anguish

I have the Nav V and Sena SMH10 they pair just fine music and eveything. My phone (Nokia Lumia 930) will not pair properly with the Nav V

You can see calls coming in on the Nav V and pick up the call but you can't hear anything no ringing and no speech (the caller may or may not hear you its unpredictable)
You can place a call, but hear no dial tone and hear no speech. (the recipient may or may not hear you its unpredictable)

I had an Interfone before and Zumo 660 and no problems whatsoever

I have a feeling the issue of music streaming will not be resolved with the MC series of Interphone headsets and will need to wait for a later version ?next year

Hi, thought you might like an update on this issue. I have found the same problem and whilst on the Interphone web site I had an interactive messaging session with a support person who suggested an update of firmware. Whilst think this will be a waste of time I checked the download page and low and behold revision R110 08/06/2015 Fix: increased compatibility with BMW Navigator V device. Updated my F5MC and tested it and it works! Set the F5MC to music streaming and away you go!

I'm not a GS owner.... I've just swapped a 90 year anniversary RT for a new R1200RS and found this site whilst looking for a F5MC / Nav V fix...

Ride fast and safe... with music now!

Cheers,
Paul
