Just to confirm ... My email is now back online and I've returned all outstanding emails :thumb

Cheers for your patience guys!

I've seen many many R9T's and I've painted several now. This one was a little different though, it came to me wearing standard paint but with an absolute fortune's worth of modifications. The Carbon Wheels being the most 'extravagant'

To my eye it's the nicest 'Modified' R9T I've seen without having been cut about. It was just thee right side of 'enough'

Owned by a father and son it came to me for a dash of colour. We hatched a plan and away I went!!

Another bike with what are becoming my signature painted BMW badges ....

Before ...

I didn't photograph the rest of the scheme going together, it was pretty boring to look at ......

Then, with many many many hours work .... it looked like this ......

Then I took all the painted parts over to their place today and built the bike up!!

Proper job...... :drool

Just stunning Chris. Like the BMW logo :thumb2 Sue just been looking at it asked, Will those wheels fit mine.... If she calls and asks just say No
May get pulled for plate but would be a real Tw*t to do that on a cracking bike like that..

Very nice job. He’s right about the number plate, that a gift to a rookie cop looking to dish out tickets.

You guys all know Mikeyboy, he's that fella oooop norf who builds really cool Airheads!

Well this job is for him to go on his Scrapyard dog project. If you've not seen the thread it's well worth a read, he does some lovely work does that lad!!

He was really lost when it came to choosing a colour / scheme so I persuaded him to let me do what I wanted :D

And ........ This is what I did!

(do I need to mention that the BMW badges are painted? :D )

It just goes to show how different a finish can look depending on the light situation ....

Identical photos with and without flash!

You know what they say about all and work and no play ......

(I was on my way back to my workshop from a paint supplier and decided to make it interesting!)

What is the name of the colour on the mudguards/base colour tank ?

Last year was the year SWMBO decided to go from 125 to 'big bike' She took her test in August. Just prior to that I picked her up this immaculate 5400 mile Kawasaki ER-6F in the obligatory Kawasaki green.

As immaculate as it was I promised here that I'd give it a paint job over the winter. I won't lie, designing a scheme for a fully faired bike is a little out of my usuall remit so I sought I'd seek expert advice.

There is a thread on here somewhere (I can't bloody find it) by a fine chap called Eugene who does design work, I sent him a photo of the original bike and an idea of what I wanted (ZZR1400 inspired) and he came back to me with a few fantastic drafts. After what seemed like a 100 hour conversation with Karen we decided on the closest basis to what we wanted. I could develop it from there ....

Green wheels single by tunneruk, on Flickr

As a Valentines present to Karen I let her spend the day with me at my workshop so she could strip her bike down ..... I'm a true gent like that! :D

First job was the wheels. Pearl green rims faded to black spokes ....

And back into the bike so it was mobile again ...

IMG_8046 by tunneruk, on Flickr

Then it was just a question of about a million paint processes to bring the design (or my version of it) to life ......

I built it up yesterday and polished all the fingerprints off it. As it was sunny today I rode it up the lane for it's compulsory photo shoot.
Tomorrow Karen's riding to Brands for the BSB
