Theresa May has declined to sanction a Scottish Referendum as the timing isn't right. That doesn't rule one out later.
There will be Hissy Fits from Sturgeon & Salmond but I think that's the right decision. It makes sense to get 'Brexit' and discussions on whether Scotland can remain or re-join the EU out of the way before asking the Scottish population to vote on leaving the UK. Otherwise the country could be launching itself into a void.
By that time the vote could be four-ways - Leaving the UK or not and if yes remaining in the EU or not.
I'm afraid 'The Sturge' is focussed on dragging Scotland out of the UK and any excuse for a Referendum will do.
Meanwhile, the Press will be stirring it up as much as possible in order to sell News.
Oh for a measured debate
