Hey, thanks for the offer. I was briefly in Serbia this year and the hospitality and sights made it a highlight. Will go back one day.

Maybe next September.

Welcome along :thumb

Thanks for the welcome- I know this is an old thread, but we'll be heading back through Serbia sometime around mid-September, from Bulgaria headed northwest to Croatia en-route home. Any tips or things we should see?

Hi, Berin!

Thank you for your interest in riding on Balkans. It depends on many things as from east to west of Serbia you have many routes. Where do you plan to enter Serbia, how many days you have to spend here, what would you like to see on the route (nature, sights...), and not less important what kind of roads you prefer?

Hi Markone - here's more or less what we're planning, heading from MotoCamp in Bulgaria to Belgrade, via Pristina - KYM1190 ADV, BMWF800GS on 50/50 tyres, prefer small roads and villages usually but neither of us have been to Pristina or Belgrade before.

Hi Berin!
Sorry for delay...

I assume it will be a few days ride?

Tomorrow I will give you more details, but on the way to Pristina, do not miss Leskovac and BBQ there! Locals recommend the etno house Grosh: http://www.restorangros.com/

Hello,

I hope to reach Pozega, from Austria, on Monday 15th August to stay somewhere for the night before heading to the Transalpina in Romania. Any recommendations?
Many thanks.

Lets see... :)

Just one of meny possible routes:

Enter in Serbia at Dimitrovgrad.

1. Dimitrovgrad, Zavojsko Lake (Velika Lukanja), Leskovac (etno house Groš (Grosh)).
https://www.google.rs/maps/dir/Dimi...c80638!2m2!1d21.944034!2d42.9963758!3e0?hl=sr

2. Leskovac, Priština, Kosovska Mitrovica, Kopaonik (Ski resort).
For some reason Google will not route you on administrative borders Central Serbia - Kosovo, but you can cross from Leskovac to Priština at Mutivode. From Kosovska Mitrovica to Kopaonik you can cross at Jarinje.

3. Kopaonik, Special nature reserve Uvac, Zlatibor, Tara mountain (Zaovine and fantastic views from Tara, Mokra Gora).
https://www.google.rs/maps/dir/Kopa...43207!2m2!1d19.5106687!2d43.8031865!3e0?hl=sr

4. Mokra Gora, Ovčar Banja, Takovo, Aranđelovac, Belgrade.
https://www.google.rs/maps/dir/Mokr...177ee4!2m2!1d20.4489216!2d44.786568!3e0?hl=sr

All named places above you should visit. Meny more you can see on the route.
It depends on time you have. You can skip some, but all are special for some reason. Google is a great tool to see what you can expect here. ;)

Any questions? :)

I think that is not possible in one day. Or maybe you can ride 8-10 hours + stops? Even if you ride on the highway from Zagreb to Belgrade (boring!) and then south to Požega.

If you want to avoid the boring highway, and if Požega is not your goal from some reason, I recommend the route thru southern Hungary (south of Balaton lake), enter Serbia at Bački Breg, then south to Novi Sad (where we can meet and you can spend the night). From Novi Sad to Pančevo, then to Banatska Palanka ferry on the Danube. From Ram (on the other bank) to Kladovo thru Djerdap Gorge (Iron Gate). Enter Romania at Turnu Severin and to the Transalpina...

What do you think? :)

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll have a look at the maps.
Much appreciated, ta.
