Just done Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France and back to Blighty.

Anyone heading to do the B500 North to South.............. It's closed Southbound about 20 miles South of Baden Baden.

Major road works going on......................

It's crap anyway :D,where it's at is all the great roads in the valleys on either side excellent riding :thumb2

B500 Crap ! !....... Best road I've ever ridden. Suits how I like to ride. Tyres on the K16 I had at the time were ragged relentlessly..... :D

I'd be happy to ride some of those.............. Care to name them ?

First ten miles out of baden where good but the rest nowt special in my humble opinion ,grab a michelin map of the area and
Take a look at all the wiggly roads with green shading alongside these are scenic routes you can't go wrong ,easily 2or 3 days good riding happy days.

It's good, but not as good as a road in Scotland of a similar type.

A835 from coast to coast. Pure magic.:thumb2

The B500 is a nice fast run, but a little overrated. IMHO.

One that I remember that was good ,I've a load of great Black Forest area roads highlighted on a map somewhere I'll try and dig it out when weve finished moving house:eek:

wish I'd seen this before we left......still, new tarmac looks great altho the white lining is a bit "squirily" to ride across...best avoid for the time being as single file mile after mile road works in 35C is not fun

It wasn't closed last week, but there was a long stretch of roadworks north of Freudenstadt. White lines on the new Tarmac were very slippy, my mate in front was foot down moto cross style at about 60. PR4s are good tyres!

Last Wednesday 20 mile stretch south bound was closed and a 50km speed limit was imposed north bound through road works.

Hi
Thanks for that,Heading down there in two weeks so will keep off it for now,Rode it lots of times anyway before speed limits where in force :D

Is there any way of finding out how long they are meant to last?
Was intending to go that way beginning of September.

I don't think they are using British contractors! unless they are doing the whole road they will be long gone by then

Aye, Wapping. Know that one. Was wondering if there was an official federal/land website with projected length of roadworks. My german is stillborn, so I was hoping for a bit of help......

There last week looks as though they are getting to end of diversion rose surface very good, and plenty of other roads either side for good riding

Road works finished so all good, nice smooth black tarmac, Don't go up there on a sunday though its fine the bikers day :D

Then pick a state on the left. Baden-Württemberg for the Schwarzwald

Mostly only list motorways though.

B500 works shown here: baustellen.strassen.baden-wuerttemberg - Click "Auswertung nach Regierungsbezirken"
The map below that is more local
