New scrambler

My own Scrambler X is the same colour (Monolith Metallic Matt?) and my mate who rattle canned my T100 is itching to do something similar to my new Beemer :augie

The look on his face was brilliant when I deliberately scratched the tank through to the metal with a rusty 6 inch nail :D

I got the clear coat on the one I'm painting today .... (watch in HD of possible)

That is just beautiful :bounce1

I'll post up a couple of photos when it's back together. I've got a few of the silver components to paint black too.

Although its got a chain, what about the new Ducati Desert Sled, it looks like the bike the scrambler always should have been. I hated the Ducati Scrambler because of its size and seat but this may just remedy that. I think it looks awesome too.

RBW.

I tried one of these last month - terrible. Well, that's a little harsh. The handling is very dirt bike with a soft setup, the brakes are fairly average might need bedding in more but the engine is flatter than a CB500. No drama whatsoever.

I bolted the one I've painted back together today ready for collection. There 'may' be some further paint attention but if I'm honest I don't think it needs it!

Sadly it wasn't sunny today. It goes absolutely mental in the sun!

Got out for my first proper run on the Scrambler X yesterday and all is good :thumb

The Tourence Next tyres are a vast improvement over off road tyres that the demonstrator had fitted ;)

Pleasantly surprised that I managed 160 miles without the fuel warning light coming on and then put in 14.75 litres which technically means that it probably should have done (17l tank with 3l reserve).

Getting a high seat next week which should improve comfort but to be honest even at 6' 3" did not find the standard seat all that bad :)

Things I have discovered so far:

£15 fender extender fits well and keeps crap off the oil cooler but little else :)

Kriega US 10 fits nicely on the pillion seat:

My Nav V cradle fits well using the BMW mount:

An old GS bash plate fits straight on:

Padock stand I got off a mate for £40 does the job:

That's probably unsurprising (re: engine being dull), but really interesting and actually puts me off it completely. A dual sport needs a bit of bark surely, at least the BMW has a half decent amount of torque/power.

Thanks for posting !

..........any chance of a photo - was just looking at the Kriega tank harness.

Cheers

I've got a problem with my Photobucket account Paul but if you PM me your e-mail address I will take a few photos tomorrow :thumby:

The US 10 works really well :D

I had a US5 on the tank of the 1290 this week, it was ideal for waterproofs/ gloves. I'm very impressed with my Kreiga luggage.
