Well something to go the 1.8 miles to my local paper shop on a Sunday morning :thumb
needs an oily rag and a dvla registration. Circa 1968, somehow I don't think Suzi is going to look right on it :augie
A cheap ebay find in Abergavenny :thumb2

Smidgeon over £300 as it's got , panniers, rear bumper, original tools, front bumper and all papers and french history, fully Working all lights and even the velosolex 'ding ding' bell oh and the BP fuel/oil can
It's up for a clean, tinker then mot.
strangly loads of spares in the uk and good owners website

it's just for a laugh:rolleyes:
must get suzi to pose in the beret/striped top "oh la la"

£300 plus is a good price for these tiddlers. Chancers at Stafford in a couple of weeks time will be after £700. Lots of stories data on the net about these little bikes, enjoy.

I nearly bought a nsu quickly at £350, (a Bin price) BUT the velosolex looked more fun
as it's up and running.
All I shall do is give it a good clean, service it and dvla registration to sort. (£55 fees)
then it's just a bit of tax free fun.
I've got the vfr if I feel the need for speed

Now I've got it home after a quick rub down with an oily rag.......
fresh petroil and air in the tyres
but
I need an old fashioned shreider valve tyre pump, and to sort out the lights ( I broke a wire in transit / collection):thumb

These people were a great help when I bought a Raleigh RM6 Runabout a couple of years ago. The registration had dropped out of the system and they were able to advise me how to go about getting the original plate back. Will this be the first registration in the UK for yours ?

First time registration on this one, it wasn't even registered in France (they didn't have to until recently! )

I'm in the vmcc so will follow their advice on dating and registration

Err road tested today........
needed more LPA to get back to the garage
I don't think the 1 in 4 hill outside helped

It's coming on............. slowly
finally sorted the tick over , it's a strange machine that runs flat out at 3800rpm all the time and you pull the front brake in to slow the bike enough for the centfugal clutch to drop out to 1250rpm.Or you eat thru the front tyre on the friction roller....:blast

Rock n Solex in Rennes

Have a look at the Rock n Solex weekend on a college campus in Rennes every May.
Live music by night, Solex racing by day. Endurance races, grand prix, sprint start, racing leathers and comedy costumes. It's a hoot - and a lot of the racing is actually very exciting.

Lots of videos online. For example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN4KhjEPLdc
Final race: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3moIrNz11sw
Endurance : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM0Z3RQrQoE

Not that I'm suggesting you race your lovely machine.

Mine struggles to pull my 15st as I live in a very hilly wales!
Funny as fook to ride but looks like I shall need a geared machine for my 1.8 miles to the paper shop:blast
I'm going to retain the patina of this machine so it's going to be "oily rag"

Yes I've joined buzzing as they are a dvla approved club for a dating certificate :beerjug:

Steve Ive got at least 15 Buzzing magazines and non look like your photo, most of them are 50 to 70 yr olds thrashing 50's into the ground under the pretence of spirited riding. Wait until you read the classifieds, for sale Norman Slovenly, fitted with cast iron rearsets, 2.5 "tyres 65cc conversion big Bing Carb. Stone age ignition, original rims.

Well work, cleaning and getting it running properly .....slowly
