UKGSer 'Dent event' Friday 19th - Sunday 21st May 2017

Everyone has already thanked Micky and the ride leaders, but I would like to say a big thank you to those who donated prizes for both the auction and raffle. Not only did they donate prizes but also bought pounds worth of raffle tickets. All the money raised will go to the Air Ambulance and I am sure that Micky will be along shortly to post the exact figure that 'you' raised.
Well done all :clap:clap:clap
Malc

Thanks Malc ... jumping the gun again there whippersnapper :D

Not only those very generous people who donated raffles prizes, some of whom also purchased up to forty quids worth of raffle tickets, also many people who 'just merely' threw in ten pound, twenty pound notes .. all for, as Malc says, The Great North Air Ambulance.

Thanks also to Wybone at Barnsley for producing the coasters, and Mark at Moto Grafix for the decals, all free of charge, all for The Cause :thumb

To Kev (Norm) for four 'kegs' of Pentrich Beer for 'the table' for good folks to help themselves and throw an amount in to the box. That raised in the region of £230.00 :beerjug:

We have three raffle prizes to allocate ...

1) 'Long Way Round' hardback of Charley and Ewans Epic Adventure
2) 'The Ultimate History Of Fast Bikes' (again) hardback by Roland Brown
3) A 12v cigarette lighter size auxiliary socket connected to two short wires and crocodile clips thingy

So if Paul (PMVern) Wreford Miles and Chris Edwards want to PM me with their choice, first come first served, and I'll make sure they get their well deserved prize :thumby:

Final total for The Great North Air Ambulance is around the eleven hundred quid mark, aint worked it all out yet

Many thanks again folks :thumb

Great photos Micky, captures the weekend very well :thumb2

Thank you once again :clap

Thanks Micky. Great event, great craic, usual spring weather!

Nice to meet up with all the usual reprobates (you know who you are) and some new ones including Toddmeister (nice bike, great rider, shit tank range) Pete NI ( no , he's not Irish but he has been enlisted to hunt down my Irish ancestors, or one any way), Mad Mountain Man, Flatdog, Fatal (is that right?) and others too many to mention.

Wrinkly, you shouldn't have coughed the 'drop'. No one took a picture. No photographic evidence, no drop. They're the rules;)

Special mention to Rocket Ron - WTF man, if you're going to whinge do it properly, and to Micky for his high level of customer service:D. You should have said 'how can we improve the customer service sir' before you showed him the rods. Have I taught you nothing?

Also special mention to Khulu? Couldn't understand a word sir but that whiskey you poured into my glass tasted good. Having said that my nurse Norm confiscated some of it:green gri

My one whinge - you know you're all getting old when the conversation in the cafe turns to 'meds' and everybody's on something:rob

Mike, last man standing on Sunday night in the G and D. Respect sir!

What ever total you get to for this good cause Add twenty quid to it from me as my penance for not coming and i will reimburse you when next we meet for a beer

Purely as a sign of oneupmanship, I'll throw in £21 to make up for me not being there, and to beat Rick by £1. :green gri

Shall I PayPal you the money?

I like his hat :D

Or by my raffle tickets...I won the most awesome clothing. Or should that be wardrobe!

I had a luvvly sleep Sunday night, in fact, went a bit too early. Quiet and relaxed with no distractions.
It was windy on the ride south down the M6. Felt like I had some water in the tank as bike was hiccuping at low speed when heading to the motorway from Dent.
Next time will bring a woolly jumper.

I can only offer my humblest apologies for our somewhat unscheduled stop in the middle of flippin nowhere :blast, and massive thanks to John (?) for heading off to the nearest garage to get some go juice and everyone else for keeping their sense of humour during my schoolboy error.

I am, of course laying the blame entirely on CCM for setting up the fuelling to be way too rich and I've left the bike at the factory for them to investigate and sort it out!

I should add at this point that all the roads in Yorkshire are boring, busy and with speed cameras everywhere so there's no need for loads of folk to go riding their bikes up there ;)

See you all next year :beerjug:

Good point but we were in Cumbria 😁

What boils my piss is the fact that some bright spark said he was coming to The Great Dent Event, ordered a polo shirt (and paid for it) didn't come, didn't tell me he wasn't coming. I PM'd him on the 22nd thanking him for his lack of communication and I would post the shirt to him if he gave me his address ... he's been on here yesterday but still can't be arsed to reply or communicate :nenau

There were a few who said they were coming but didn't ... and didn't bother to let anyone know :blast

That's all folks .... mini rant over. Carry on regardless :thumb
