can the 9T Battery be charged through the accessory socket with the correct optimate lead ( like the RT and GSA ) ?

I use it with the BMW Charger so I cant see why it would not work with the optimate

Surely the CanBus would shut the electrical system down like it does on other newer BMWs ?

On my old 06 GSA I had the Optimate lead hard wired direct to the battery

Many thanks if this charges the bike the optimate will too .

That's half right! But on the RT LC if you connect the charger to the bikes accessory socket with ten mins of switching it off at the ignition , the socket takes the adapter and charges the bike . I was hoping it would be the same for the R9 too , sounds like it is
