I am 6' 3"" and find the standard screen too short for motorway riding.
Has anyone fitted an after-market one with improved results?

Robin

Hi Robincroft,

I have both screens and prefer the shorter as supplied from new.
I am 5' 9" and don't appear to benefit anything from the taller screen, by the way its for sale.

I've got standard screen with a batzen adjuster I can have visor open at 60 mph

I'm 6'4", but long of body and short of leg, so I've had a play with most of the available aftermarket screens to try and get to something I'm comfortable with:

  • Honda standard screen - too much wind noise and buffeting
  • Honda Touring screen - too much buffeting but less noise
  • MRA Touring VT (the one with the adjustable spoiler) - better but still not ideal
  • Powerbronze Flip screen - too much wind noise and buffeting
  • Ermax Touring screen - no buffeting at all, but lots of wind noise
  • Powerbronze Sport screen - fecking useless!
  • MRA Sport Screen - again, fecking useless!!
Beginning to lose the will to live at this point and resign myself to earplugs at all times when riding...........

Last resort - try one of those gimmicky add on spoilers on the best of the bunch..........:nenau

Ermax Touring Screen WITH the Adjustable Windscreen Spoiler - what a revelation, really very surprised by the result - minimal noise, no buffeting, can ride at any speed with the visor up and don't need earplugs all the time :D:D:D:D:D

I had some fun trying different things on the CB500X rally raid to cure the crap screen
I made this and it works great
It also folds right down for a bit of off roading
Think i will make something similar for the AT

whats the total height of the ermax touring plus the spoiler? I see the ermax is 45cm. I am just getting used to my V stream 58 (51cm, but wider) and still have wind noise at ear level. The line of sight is just 1" too tall for me, but buffeting is much less than the standard screen. The noise is less but not gone by a long way. Much less buffeting on my arms and shoulders but after having the use of a loan bike last week, I now know what clean air sounds like....bliss! Just ordered a swego tech spoiler thing but not fitted it yet and need to do more miles before any more changes...Ill try the fork shield deflector and probably with the standard screen too to see the difference. But its gonna be a long rode to givi airflow levels lol
