I got this to power extra accessories like phones and my two GoPros. It gives you 5 circuits switched 12 volts with a maximum of 5 amps per circuit. If you need more than this then you will need a use a relay or another device.

I liked this because it's water and dust proof plus it's very cheap. The full details can be found here http://www.innovv.com/innovv-power-hub1-cjxt

The leads to the battery were far too short so I needed to buy extra wire to lengthen the cables. I also added superseal connectors on four of the leads and a SAE connector on the last one. You get a single ground lead and I tied all 5 grounds to this single lead.

I used the rear tail light feed for the trigger wire.

The unit fits absolutely perfectly under the tail section on my 2016 GS.

I had it a little wrong with the amps per circuit. The maximum you can have per one circuit is 15 amps and you just need to change the fuse. The total output will still be 40 amps though.

I also mentioned the battery lead length to Innovv and they are looking at making it longer in the next batch.

I thought max safe current was 10amps ?

No, it's 15 amps and the total cannot go above 40 amps. I can't imagine what you would need to run above 15 amps on a bike

It's labelled on the device

I use a fuze block and my expresso machine can blow out the 10amp fuse so maybe I need to change the fuse, switch off the rotisserie when making a coffee.

I like the idea of an onboard consumer unit so you can accessorise your awesome steed.
I am probably looking at it wrong but does that SAE plug have a live output terminal (red wire) un-insulated and flapping about in the breeze.

Fred,

I followed you to this thread from the Hex ezCan post - thanks for the great photos and details.

I noticed that you neatly placed the ezCan under the plastic sub-frame cover towards the front of the bike but had the Innovv in the precious storage space under the rear seat. Was that because the unit is too tall to fit under the plastic cover (it looks tall)?

Richard

Not at all and I could had hid all the cables of the Innovv down the side like I did with the EZCan. The main part of the Innovv would have been too tall to fit it in the exposed part though and you would not be able to put the seat on. You would not want it in the exposed part anyway

Thanks for the prompt reply. I might go down this route if the ezCan isn't readily available in the UK (and it is far cheaper :thumb)

If you don't need any of the extra features of the EZCan then the Innovv is great value. I only replaced it because I wanted the CANBUS features.

I tried to get the ezCan but they wouldn't post to the uk as no EU approval ( sooner the better we are out of it!)
I fitted the Lenovo after reading Fred's thread
