Dear reader..
What Mr Wheeler is omitting to mention is that he had spent some while hiding all the good stuff PRIOR to my arrival at Wheeler Towers, leaving out only a bottle of some stuff so bad even Shackleton dumped it.....a stash being subsequently found on Bear Island in the south Atlantic, and exported to Yorkshire where they will drink anything. Moreover, the bottle presented to me had about an inch left in it...barely enough to moisten a molar. It was my duty to rid him of the noxious poison; a task I reluctantly succeeded in.
No mention of the hungry bastard polishing off my litre bottle of Highland Park in one go in France is there....oh no.
But on to good news.....sold my spare 1200GS today....money in the bank!
Down to only one bike!
Nae problem 9 it is
I drove home this way last Friday:
Gravel / grit in middle of left handed corner after coming downhill from the Lecht.
After your right turn to go over the moor road there are lots of patched areas with loose gravel. This happens all the way to Glenshee.
Be careful on the ride down to Persie and have a great time at Dent.
Iain
Thanks for the heads up Iain
I rode that way not so long ago and it was pretty messy but it sounds like it could be worse now, I'll have pillion ( & all her associated 'extra clothes in case it gets cold' ) and Tamnavoulin on board so will be taking it easy.
Will swig a couple of beers for you when I get there
Mike.
On a power to weight ratio
I am planning on picking up beer in the colonies Im guessing in our sonter doon we will be drift past an appropriate hostelry!
Im guessing the fisky might be cheaper too
were planning to divert to asda in kendal bhud to pick up 'supplies' - its only a short hop then to dent. on a recent trip from fife to skye i put a case of bottled beer in my mates top box. 4 of the 10 bottles exploded. his top box still stinks like a dive bar floor.
I am now going in the Landcruiser - long story. But if anyone wants supplies picked up let me know
