Other side dead easy once moving and setting of in morning. My brain goes into autopilot mode after short stop like fuel or taking a leak which is what I reckon catch most people out.

Having a word with yourself every time you get on the bike is a good idea

The only thing to add is be willing to change plans and don't set unrealistic targets and chase the day trying to reach them france is big most maps don't do it justice, go with the flow and enjoy the ride

I have ridden a fair bit in France and enjoyed virtually every non motorway km I have covered. Because the weather is very similar to ours, often wet I suggest you be flexible when booking your hotels. Get the accorhotel app as you can easily find somewhere en route.

Just over 3 hours will see you in the Eifel national park, Germany. From there great roads, a loop could include some Black forest. Then head west in to Vosges area FRance. Northern France doesnt compare to Alps, Provence, Pyrenees area tbh without getting well away from Calais.
