You're focussing on the figures too much. Look at the graph, and the amount of torque that has been released down low. The bike is a whole new beast.
Sorry boss, you are right.

Lovely and smooth, just how it should be
Still down compared to the iconic 1190 after a 'Hilltop' though.......................................never mind though, the 1290 has a TFT display and can show you what tracks are playing on your iPod

Is that a standard 1290 S/R?
You have at least 15 bhp more than my results. Wonder is the dyno was reading low when I had mine done in June.
To be honest, the bike has more power than I can ever use much of the time !!

Blame Euro 4 for that, as Keith's bike is Euro 3. Although it has more BHP, the torque is slightly lower than on my EU4 bike. Not that I'd be able to notice!
And when you change again in 2019, it'll be euro 6 or 7 and then you'll be able to walk faster
I'm loving my S, now got 5000 miles on the clock. If anyone wants a Rallye, drop me a PM.
And here's mine from today; a cheeky hiding pony released, and a few torques too...
