NC500 questions

Or jump on a Calmac ferry....the world is your lobster.

Much better things to do than the NC500 and, if you're outside school hols, you can just stay where you want, pretty much.
No need to book.

So much choice, so little time. Have Normandy and a trip to Pyrenees booked as well but think I am looking forward to this one the most, love Scotland

Did the NC500 last July with my dad and yea west is best, we are heading back later this year to do a bit more of the west and the Islands too

For accommodation I would recommend the Argyll Hotel in Ullapool, http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/arg...c55b41ef9e007182ac8451a9X1;type=total;ucfs=1&

Good clean rooms and the staff were so helpful. They have a live/walk in music night a couple of nights a week which we were lucky to hit and it was a great evening with a drink by the fire. I would check out their info and make sure your over night falls on one of their music nights. It really cant be bad when they give you a key to the front door along with the room key :beerjug:

The same people also run the Ferry boat Inn http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/the...c55b41ef9e007182ac8451a9X2;type=total;ucfs=1&

I think the rooms in it aren't as new by the look of the wallpaper haha but they have the music nights when the other doesn't so I'm sure its the same warm friendly atmosphere etc

We do the west coast in 5 days from Worcester:

Worcester - Ayr
Ayr - Ullapool (Common route the west coast via Applecross)
Ullapool - Ullapool (Up to Durness and back via Tongue and lairg)
Ullapool - Moffat (via Loch Ness and Trossacks)
Moffat - Worcester

About 1500 miles all in and great riding.

If you got time give yourself a day off the beaten track, checkout the wee roads to inverkirkaig ,Stoer point etc you will find some cracking spots :beerjug:

I spend four or five weeks doing it .... in the VW Camper. For the last couple of years, Septemberish, just me and mi dawg :thumb

All the Islands, bit by bit, take my time, smell the flowers .... lovely :thumb

If, you want some routes, through the borders, let me know if it's East or West you're travelling up and I'll send you some suggestions.
