You say the valve core is tight but maybe consider slipping a new one in?

I could do, but it's both front and rear which I suspect are inserted at different times during manufacture

I've now tried 6 airlines and only one of them works (and then only if I hold just right)

A previous reply was try the 90 degree adapter. Thats what I do. I never use a forecourt air line only a foot pump, I can never seem to get a decent fit without the adapter.

My wheels are the spoked classic ones.
