Hi all

I have a 2014 800GS, can someone please point me to a link for an aux power outlet I can wire in alongside the factory aux power outlet? Having trouble finding the right bit, will be a socket and some wires no doubt. I have the magic cable to connect into the canbus by the battery.

Related question, I could be in the position where I have GPS, maybe phone, maybe heated vest all needing power - how do folk tend to get power to multiple items?

And lastly, do I need to buy a gps unit or can I make do with either my phone suitably mounted and running free gps software (issue seeing screen maybe?) or even use an old iPhone 3GS sitting in the drawer to do same job?

thanks for any insight!

I also have a 2014 800GS, I have fitted it with Autocom SPA, an Intaride PMR radio for bike to bike, Garmin Satnav and power for heated jacket and phone charging. I use a PDM60 http://www.nippynormans.com/fuse-panels/pdm60-power-distribution-module-with-programming-cable
which is switched by using a Satnav cable http://www.nippynormans.com/f650gs-...any-garmin-or-tomtom-gps-into-the-bmw-harness
which plugs into the GS harness next to the battery. Obviously the cost is fairly high, but it's a one-off cost which opens up complete ease of further additions. I leave the Autocom and radio preset so all I have to do is plug in the headset and it all works and switches off when the Canbus does. I managed to get hold of a built-in socket for the Autocom some years ago and have mounted this in the spare (blanked) hole next to the key switch so nothing is visible externally (you could also fit another power socket here). I am very pleased with the setup and have helped a few friends with their wiring problems.

Wow, that PDM60 looks the business, thanks for posting. Will look into that.
