I Phone won't delete emails.

Hi,bit of advice needed here if possible.Just recently(last 2 weeks),my I Phone 6s Plus will allow inbox emails to be moved to trash,then deleted from trash but they still remain in "All Mail",having to be deleted a second time.On my laptop I can delete straight away.O2 shop were clueless and Apple Support are baffled.The fact my laptop permanently deletes them would suggest Phone is at fault/incorrect settings as opposed to a Gmail issue.Any advice greatfully received.Many thanks in advance.Neil

Your phone app is set to swipe to archive instead of swipe to delete. It's a Gmail app setting and nothing to do with the phone.

Have you got all of the "delete from server" options ticked? It sounds like you're deleting emails from off of the phone but not the server. Therefore, the phone pulls the emails back down again once it re-connects.
