Have been looking into a wee trip to galway city in June 9 - 11th June and everything appears to be mental prices. any ideas on b+bs or hotels in the town would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Stayed at an Ibis there a couple of years ago...bit bland, but bed and food....Don't go to Galway when the races are one.....unless you are going to Galway for the races, in which case that is the best time to go.....

And if you stay at a B and B there the year before, don't just get on a bus and go into town, without actually getting the name and address of the B and B you are staying in....makes it a tad difficult to get back to it at midnight!!!!

Tara Lodge is a B&B that I have stayed at in Galway and can highly recommend. It is your typical Irish B&B house, rooms are ensuite and the breakfast is good. Orla, the owner even drove three of us into town to the Connacht rugby ground for a match. You could book it on Booking.com or alternatively ring Orla on (+353) 87 285 8316 and book with her directly.

College road Galway. There must be about 30 there. From memory there's Aaron house then down a bit there's Ascard house. We sometimes book guests into them on a 2 day trip when I'm with Paddywagon. The bus driver always gets a good breakfast. City hostel is in the city round corner from TKMAC. JJH

The Harbour hotel.
Great rooms and secure car park.
Stop complaining about expensive coming from Sterling land, Ireland is a bargain.

Plenty of Hostels at various prices.
Ibis is no more, it's the Noxnow.
All the cheap hotels are full with coach traffic
Corrib Village 166 Euros for 3 nights, and an easy ramble into town along the Corrib.
