Anyone know what makes a Nav V or VI so special???

I have a normal car Garmin sat nav unit, what are the differences for the bike unit?

I know it can be run from the rotary controller, but there not on every bike...

what else is there that may convince me to splurge the kids inheritance

Bike unit is waterproof for a start but there are other garmin zumo options for bikes other than the V or VI which are bmw branded and have some extra functionality particularly for the wc bikes.

Can you car Garmin connect to a Bluetooth headset? Can it connect to your phone, as said above is it waterproof, twisty roads option?

The advantages of the Nav V or Nav VI over a Garmin 660 (also a bike sat nav) are mainly related to the thumbwheel.
There are other options available that aren't on the 660 but if you don't have a thumbwheel then the 660 is a good cheaper option

Had the 660 on my K1600GT with the wonder wheel. Does very little using the wonder wheel, but works fine otherwise.
Depending on the difference in cost, I could live with the 660 no problem.
Always remember to put the cover back on the holder when removing the unit. I forgot and it was bringing up errors for days!
