First thing to check is speed sensors, the rear one may have a broken wire, use a g911 diagnostic tester or just replace the sensor (approx £50 )

My 'brake failure' light has just come on (and won't go off) - am off to see Steve on Thursday next week (sounded very helpful on the phone) - I'll report back 
Went off again. Assumed it was a 'glitch' (as it only happened the one time)
Cancelled my appointment with Steve.
Went to have my scrambler serviced, test rode a GSA, agreed a trade in on my RT.
Found a private buyer for my RT, got a better price than part-ex so I cancelled the part-ex and will pay the deposit myself.
Light came on again. Went off again.... came on again (as Steve said it would!)
So I've cancelled the private sale (I'd never sell on a bike with a out-standing issue).
Rebooked with Steve for Monday week.
Why do these things happen just when you're looking to sell your bike... or have bought another????
