    Campsites On Corsica

    Folks

I am after a little advice, me and wife are looking for a campsite on Corsica, we would like to stay away from the larger sites and we looking for a smaller site preferably around the middle of the island so easy access to the north and the south.

A site that caters more so for climbers, hikers and motorcyclist would be great. Any advice would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

I stayed last year at 'Camping La Morsetta' - it's on the Western edge down a stunning road from Calvi (maybe 20 miles). Wonderfully remote. I put a review on my blog - can send you a PM with a link if you might be interested. The mountains are a short ride away and there is little else out on that coastline other than stunning scenery and roads.

We went to Corsica in 2010.

For the first few nights we stayed at camping Cabanella which is in the mountains, middle but in the north. Small campsite next to a fast flowing river and used by outdoor types.

We were on Corsica for 7 days and had a 2 campsite stay - 1 mountains, 1 beach. There is a lot to see but the roads are small and mountainous so slow going (but brilliant).

We noticed most people on bikes, motos, campers had a touring holiday and would stay in each campsite for a couple of nights then move on - this way you get to see a lot more. If you go during the 'season' the coastal roads are packed so it can be hard work -the mountain roads were fine. During our beech stay we would be up and out by 7am to miss the crowds, then head for the hills during the hot part of the day then back to the beach around 4pm - this system worked really well for us.

Next time we will have a bit longer and possibly a 4 campsite stay - popping over to Sardinia for a couple of days

    Enjoy, it's biking heaven

Stopped in this campsite in the center of Corte 3 years ago

A small campsite on the banks of the Restonica river, close to the town center, hospital, petrol station and supermarket, with a small bar for €15 per night.

Facilities were basic but very clean.
