Swing arm cracked

Jeh if you can strip it your self £ 20 fix for a good welder

Was not repairable as warped in the process - a new part was £1100 now restored to health

Bmw offered me a new swing arm on my xchallenge when I broke it, but by then i'd already got a second hand one and fixed it.

That's just shit quality in either the welding or the materials, so I would put a complaint in direct to Bmw and see if they will give you something back on it as its not fit for purpose

That's a bit of a bold statement.

Everything has a finite fracture criteria - and without knowing what it has had to endure - to cough up the "not fit for purpose" cliche is unfounded.

The issue is not unheard of on plain ordinary BMW 1200s. How many bikes are known for having weak rear swing arms?
But to be fair they usually break on the actual shaft tunnel part of the arm.
