Found these helpful instructions on ADV rider, might be of use to someone.

1. Go out to your bike and retrieve the grey emergency key and place it on the cirular spot under the rear of the bike above the rear wheel.

2. With the grey Key on the magic spot, start your bike.

3. Take the new key fob and place it up against the magic spot with the BMW roundel thats on the fob facing the rear wheel so that you can press it.

4. As you hold the new fob on the spot press and hold the little tiny BMW roundel/emblem on the new key fob and at the same time keep your eye on the yellow missing key triangle on your display. Keep holding it until the triangle goes out and you are done.

BTW I've not tried it myself.

Wow. This is good. I have an old remote key that was for my last GSA. Be good if I can programme this to my new bike ?
Cheers. I'll try it in the morning.

I'll see if it works and post here.

Good luck with that. Lind tried to reprogram a spare from a previous gsa for me, obviously just for the keyless function. They couldn't make it work so would be interesting if this procedure works.

Ohhh think long and hard! You don't want to confuse the entire system and finish up locked out.

Ok.
It doesn't work.
However, it proved my spare plastic grey key works. And also didn't confuse the original key.

This is not talking about programming the key. This is talking about programming the fob, the little remote gadget that is used on keyless rides. Notice the thread heading - "Keyless ride - how to program the fob yourself."

Post no.1 and you are straight in with red words. There are a few on here who renew their bikes anually, QRF's old GSA could have had keyless.
