Firstly I would recommend staying in the Caribou Adventure park for a night, you sleep in a bubble tent, pitched in the trees, biker friendly. It's an hour south of Paris, very nice Canadian owner who will be delighted if you join him for a cocktail by the pool and a chat.
(EDIT... in case you decide to cancel your 250 mile radius restriction see below!)
You also must visit the Combe Laval in the Vercors National Park, its just south west of Grenoble, it's absolutely astonishing. Some of the most dramatic landscape you'll see and ride through in Europe.

Also close to the Route Napoleon if you are looking for a structured route to do.
