Hi folks, any thoughts about this mystery part? - just found this in a box of stuff that came with my 1150gs when I bought it last year. Can't see where it fits or whether it's been replace by an upgraded something. Bike has just been fully serviced and MOT'd so nothing critical I hope. many thanks

It's part of a hand guard 
Hand guards are one piece (on my 1150 from BMW they are)
I think that is the old cover that goes under the switch block on the RHS.
there is a mod to change out the throttle cable from the twist grip to the Bowden box.
