Received 2 new tyres for the 80ST yesterday.

Continental Conti Go, standard sizes.

Rear has a date code of 5216.

Front has a date code of 4612.

Now, I always thought that tyres had a 'best before' of 5 years, or is this just folklore?

Whilst I am happy with the rear tyre, its the front that I have the the concern with. :nenau

Going to contact the supplier today to see if they can supply a later date code.

They must have been from a batch being sold off cheaply somewhere along the supply chain, I think in Germany you can't use tyres over a certain age which is part of the reason for their lightly used tyres being exported in containers as they will not be accepted in their vehicle road worthiness test.
