Starter relay blowing

Afternoon all

I have a 2011 GS (from new) and have managed to go through 3 starter relays in 18 thousand miles.

They last about twelve months. I tend to travel wit a few spare ones but mates are getting fed up with taking my bike to bits to fit a new one especially if its boiling hot.

Any ideas why the things fail ?

Any suggestions would be most welcome
