6.4 with shoulders and a gut...sleeping bag recommendation please

Coleman big basin - I'm the same stats as you (a bit taller) and this is a perfect doss bag. Mind you it doesn't pack down small but at 40-50 quid, it can't be beaten.

get a military one in a compression bag you won't regret it cost is about £30

No disrespect but he said 6.4 and a gut, I got rid of my old bag (military one not the wife) as it's about 25 years too small on me at 6ft with a gut, and that was a straight bag not cocoon.
I've got one of these. Pure comfort but it's pack down size isn't small.
shoulders too wide but on the right track,had a military one years ago must have been sas rather than than horse guards...miles too small....want one that packs small

Have a look at Snugpak Chyrsalis bags. They have a "fat bloke" panel that lets the bag expand another 15cm or so. http://www.snugpak.com/outdoor/chrysalis-125

I've had loads of bags and the the snugpak softie has been great but with the expander panel in they are still not roomy, I now have a butler(cowboy bed roll) bag and its fucking awsome, not cheap and its large 'n heavy, 7' long I think but I dont notice it in the back of the landy.
