I bought this a month or two ago and am loving it, First thing I did was removed the top box (a lot harder that I thought) as soon as I got it home then the next weekend I took if over to St Malo in France and it didn't miss a beat. I have spent the last few weeks taking bits off and fitting a single seat, new exhaust and a better air cleaner.

Looks very nice. They just continue to look better and better the more that gets stripped off don't they (within reason obviously).

Looks nice. If you aren't carrying a passenger I'd take off the rear footboards, they weigh about 2 kgs!

Edit: Sage advice Melchy!

I got it to take the good lady out on because she's not keen on me Lowrider S, Easy to put the double sofa seat back on not sure about the rear pegs though.

Looks nice, immaculate for the year. Mine is a 2006 1450cc stage 1 (ha! all that extra power) in blue. Heavy old bugger, but doesn't miss a beat touring - might get a bit cross queuing at the UK border sometimes.

I wonder, what is your front brake like? or does she need advanced notice. Lucky the rears are good.

Enjoy ...................... KEN

Philistine.

Tell me I'm wrong. Show me a bike that has ever been visually improved by the addition of a top box....ever....in the history of the world.

It may have doubled the value but it certainly hasn't helped it in the looks department.

I disagree....as I'm sure the "biking photographer" , bless him, would do so too. Look at the classic shape, the hint of times past, the flowing lines........

....and being bright yellow it works well drawing the eye away from the monstrosity it is bolted to...job done!

I'm not certain what's more depressing, the bike, the top box, the rainy day, the drab 1970's housing estate, or the weeds and litter on the kerb........

That Glide is sooo clean..... has it been kept in a bubble the last 20 years?

[rose-tinted specs]...ahhh...but... they were "great days" if you were a youth....I had the previous model MZ (TS250/1)...and we had good times....free of the responsibilities and burdens that come with age....a tent strapped to the carrier, a doss-bag and a couple of quid in yer pocket...... off to Wales for the weekend....if (when) one of you broke down.. you fixed (bodged) it and carried on.....no fretting over corrosion..residuals...as long as you gave Mom yer housekeeping, what (little) was left in the brown wage packet was yours to do as you pleased..........[/ rose-tinted specs]

Indeed they were - I have a picture somewhere of an overloaded RD250E with ex RAF canvas panniers and our other luggage in black sacks bungeed on the back - toured 2 up Cornwall for a week with my GF at the time.... fuck she must have been uncomfortable....
