You can purchase a warranty from BMW even after yours has expired. Your bike needs to in working order, serviced and you have to wait 30 days for it to kick in.

Really glad i have ordered mine without ESA , TFT and if the flappy exhaust valve goes an aftermarket upgrade system will be done. Just the spokes and forks to watch out for now. Oh dear now why didnt i opt for the Triumph Tiger XRX. These forums scare the shit out of me.

Having been a warranty administrator for a good many years I would personally steer well clear of third party warranties. Loopholes galore, not worth the paper they are written on.��
My BMW renewal came in today £424 with £50 excess. Think I will pass.
Although my bike has had its fair share of the common faults inc rear shock, I am reasonably confident the risk is quite low now due to failure.
