Flappy Valve - replacement link pipe

Could someone please repost the photos for removing the valve and replacing with a tube? I get the photobucket message... Accessing, disconnecting the cables and how to leave it all secure is my main query. I just received the Remus pipe from motorworks. Thanks.

It's annoying the way Photofkkit have behaved but TBH, you wont need any photos. There's nothing complicated about the flappy valve fitting.

I will try and put them back up tomorrow on Flikr- I have abandoned fotofuckit as it's now useless

Nip up the exhaust hanger bolt and its job done

I did not find any need to use any paste etc - the clamps and pipe sit together perfectly,
no blowing, no leaks.

Stand back and admire your work

The Flappy Valve was seized on my 1200 so it was replaced under warranty which I saw what it would have cost me............... £385!

You can disconnect the valve and motor and remove from the bike. The ECU will register an error code but there is no warning light and no effect on the bike's running. Remove the whole lot and bag it up for when you sell the bike. If you soak the valve in a jar of diesel fuel it may well free off by the time you need to refit it.

JonnyBravo, many thanks. Not being mechanically minded these pictures are really helpful. A job for this Saturday. Cheers

If you get stuck - just ask but fear not, on the scale of jobs ranging from an easy 1 to a oh my god 10, I rate this job as a 1 ;)

The stainless pieces I'm using are from trepanned offcuts of bearings that the company I work for manufacture. The material starts off life as 220mm solid stainless 440c, making them the correct length would render them incredibly expensive.
I do have the option of making them to the correct length using EN31 or ST52 steel but alas neither are rust resistant...

Did you ever sort it? and are you making a few to sell on? ( none of your pics show BTW)

Or do I need to get a gucci one from motor works :)

I've freed mine off twice and getting bored with it
