The buggers at Bikesure cum-Adrian Flux have let me down in my attempt to have an "agreed value" on a new policy.

Their response after getting the first paperwork wrong relative to my submission - "With regards to the value of the vehicle, please note this has been agreed at £X. This is due to the vehicle being a new purchase and no work being carried out by yourself"

I thought the whole point is to recognise the true value of the vehicle to ensure a realistic pay out if I trash it,, irrespective of what I paid for it.

BTW - it's not a brand new 17 plate vehicle, it happens much older and cheaper.

Surely any "new" purchase is related to what the value to replace is.

I have a T140v EX which I have owned from new, any replacement bike would not be the same, due to having previous owners, so cannot be like for like.

Market value of a good T140v EX is around £3,750, mine is agreed value of £7K, due to any rebuilding costs, it is irreplaceable, in my eyes.
