My mate is desperate for a GS and he's seen this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382121626053 it mentions it's had the catalytic converter removed, is this ok? Why would someone do this?
Removal of the cat is not a problem so long as the fuelling has been looked after, which it probably has because you can't blink for information about cat code plugs/Steptoes jumpers/etc/etc on here and elsewhere - very well documented. Also, he can get old catalytic converters for next to nothing on eBay if he wants to get it back to stock. Having said that, that price is a bit over-optimistic IMO. I bought something very similar recently without the weird exoskeleton thing and only 22k miles on the clock, and it was less than that one ^^^. The clock resetting itself all the time is a problem he'll have to sort out. So if he's set on that particular one, start with the battery issue and haggle it down!
Looks like a lovely bike with some decent farkles, not least an MRA shield
Bought mine, same year single spark, at about that mileage and have doubled it since. Apart from a final drive rebuild she's been pure gold.
Nice colour too, but not as fast as a GSA bumblebee
