2000 1150 gs abs. With the Brembo branded calipers.

My front brakes are squeaking, pretty loud. It's annoying and embarrassing.

I've tried putting copper grease on the back of the pads, which stopped it for about half an hour or so of riding then back it came.

I'm trying to think of alternative things to address. Pads are pretty new ferodos. Perhaps they have become glazed I thought (think that leads to squeal?). Took them out and we're a bit shiny but I've no real point of reference to know what is shiny and what isn't. The front wheel doesn't spin freely when bike is on its stand but it will revolve maybe one whole rotation after you give it a push - so pads are in contact with the disks to some extent but I wouldn't describe it as binding. You don't notice the brakes feeling on when pushing the bike.

So, after that ramble.... a few actual questions.

Is there any other potential causes/fixes that I've not looked at?

How freely should the front wheel rotate? And do people reckon that the small amount of friction I seem to have lead to pads glazing?

Thanks.

+ 1 for Tim's suggestion.

Is it on the original rubber brake hoses? They could be breaking down too, preventing your sticking pistons settling back?
