Yes I know it's in the wrong section, but it's such a cracking meet-up, and I'd hate anyone within reach to miss it.

Lincs bike-night tonight is at East Kirkby Heritage Airfield, Lincs, and they will have their Lancaster bomber out.

When they fire-up all four of those Rolls Royce Merlin V12's at very close quarters it is a sight to be seen, heard and felt!

Gathering starts from 6pm, I think that the they fire up the beast at 8.0pm but double check lincs bike-night web site.

£5.00 entry to a worthy cause.:thumb

Thanks for letting us know, I would not have picked it up otherwise and will go.

If you are into bikes, WW2 stuff, planes, engines, memorabilia, photos, wreckage and history etc it's a great event. It's like stepping back in time.

They even supply a little square wooden footprint for your bike stand if you park it on the grass!

Food too.

Damn, I would love to see and hear that.
Hope all who go have a great night.

Just spoken to the nice lady at the centre:. They are open right through.

Hurricane flypast at 2000 hrs.,

Spitfire flypast at 2015 hrs.

Lancaster start -up following on.

Anybody going from NE Lincs area?

And the aircraft appears in this quite extraordinary story of an RAF flight engineer who bailed out of a damaged Lanc in 1944 and who made a gripping "home run" back to Blighty

Cheers Batman1 I went and really enjoyed it. Appreciate the info.

+1 for that. Thanks batman. Last minute thing for me-- didn't know it was happening but with the perfect weather and a blast across the Wolds it was great
Never seen so many bikes in one place. Will post some pics later.
