Just had the new Pirelli scorpion rally STR fitted today in anticipation of some serious bendies and a bit of off road, black mountains in France and the peaks of the Pyrenees into Spain Will be interested to see if they are better, less noisy, longer lasting than the anakees I had before!
Cheers Simon

I will be interested to see how you get on with these, as I am thinking about switching to them after my Anakee 2's need changing.

They do look good

If there anything like Karoo 3 fronts,

the noise will drive you nuts.

Can't see how they can be better than Mk 1 Tourance for dual-duty.........

No sorry but for people of a certain age this is tyre porn

Will be back in two weeks, I will let you know how I get on , just from coming back from the garage I noticed they turn in a lot quicker, they don't drop and turn , they just turn quickly, mind you my anakee 3's were pretty square after 4,000 miles still had tread left but not very nice handling!

What the hell
Are people doing to only get 4000miles?

I'd reasonably happy with 4000miles (6000kms) from a rear tyre and twice that from a front.

That doesnt look to have much tread depth for a new tyre, or is it illusion.

I don't have them but looking to get them. They are not deep tred pattern, I think about 9 mm someone said. They are great on road and trail but not a mud type trail.

Tyre porn

Size matters apparently

with a 90/90 x 21 front i do 2 fronts to one rear, but must be well into 6000-8000 range on current set front is shot though and the rear a bit squared off

You perhaps need to reassess your acceptable parameters or your bike set up ......

I get more than that by some margin on the 14R, more again on the 10R and almost double on the LC.
And I have no regard for maximum fuel consumption......

Any update on how you thought these compared to the Anakee wilds? It’s almost tyre time for me and I’m split between these two.
