I wouldn't mind having the HD experience for a while but not really committed enough to fork out the guts of €30k for a 17.
What is a good year for a Road King?
What about this one?
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201706096289670/usedbikes

Do all the tweaks make a better riding experience? what about the uprated brakes?

Is all the chrome a hassle? what is the ratio of wet hours riding to hours cleaning?

Based on my recent look at Harley pricing that one looks pretty good.

The thing I learnt the hard way was that modifying a Harley to be just as you want it is incredibly expense, and, despite what the dealer tells you, it's not an investment!

Consequently, if this bike has the modifications you want, it's a good deal. If you want something different then perhaps look elsewhere

The "tat" doesn't add value, unless it's what you want. Looks too "bling" for me.

This is the bit I'd be interested in..

I'd be asking, who did the work, what does the 106" kit involve, what cams, were the headers replaced or just the cans.

If that all ticks your boxes.....buy the fucker....

Looks well blinged up - whether you like that or not? is down to you.

Is it UK or an import - UK VINs all start 5HD

Are the pics current I wonder - still showing an obsolete tax disc. That Givi would have to go - get an appropriate tourpack if needed.

Otherwise it's worth a look. Check out that engine work thoroughly & talk to the tech if necessary - nice if it's bona, but overpriced if not.

I fancy a RK but being in the wet lads of West Ireland is it practical?
I wouldn't fancy following Jockster down a boreen.

You only live once, if it seems right and ticks all your boxes, go for it, however chrome means keep it in the garage, and if you go near salty water wash it off straight away, ask me how I know.

Thanks Smogbob. Appreciate the advice. Bought an RT instead. Do for now.

I posted on here to look for advice on a HD purchase only to get an offensive response from one member who does not know me or has never met me.
I did report the reply to admin but nothing has happened to my knowledge.

In view of this, THREAD IS NOW CLOSED.
