Went across to Braemar yesterday and saw the councils signs saying that the Gairnsheil road - B976 - will be shut for 2 weeks as from 3-7-17. You can still get to Tomintoul from the A93, you just have to ride towards Ballater and take the A939 north. And vice versa when heading south

Oh, and another thing - there is surface dressing (lots and lots of small chuckies) on both the northern and southern sides of the Lecht (A939)

Take care

Yup, the Lecht road is covered with gravel, both sides and along to Strathdon. Why they do it in early summer I'll never know.

Have no idea why they do this other than to piss us bikers off, you wouldn't mind if they actually filled in the holes prior to putting down the chuckles but they dont. Total waste of time and flippen dangerous.

And invariably there's a nasty ridge between the two layings of the tar / chuckies
